Managed Redis Hosting

In-memory speed on the same network as your app. Zero egress fees for caching, sessions, pub/sub, and real-time features.

Why Galaxy for Redis

A fully managed Redis instance that lives where your app lives.

Same network as your app

Galaxy Redis runs alongside your app on the same internal network. Zero egress fees, sub-millisecond access, and no separate database bill.

Flat pricing, everything included

One monthly price covers everything — backups, support, and version upgrades. No surprise charges for data transfer, storage I/O, or premium support.

Managed for you

Provisioning, daily backups, monitoring, and version upgrades handled for you. Choose when to upgrade Redis versions — no forced changes.

Redis for Meteor real-time

Scale Meteor’s reactivity beyond MongoDB oplog tailing.

The problem

Meteor apps with heavy real-time load rely on MongoDB oplog tailing for reactivity. As concurrent users grow, oplog tailing strains the server — increasing CPU, memory, and database load.

The solution

The community redis-oplog package, which we’ve contributed to, replaces oplog tailing with Redis pub/sub. This cuts server load and lets real-time apps scale to thousands of concurrent users. Co-locating Redis on Galaxy, on the same network as the app, makes that pub/sub sub-millisecond.

Real-world result: Propiedata scaled their Meteor application to approximately 30,000 concurrent users using redis-oplog among other optimizations — replacing oplog tailing with Redis pub/sub on Galaxy to keep reactivity fast under load.

Built for production workloads

Everything you need to run Redis reliably, without managing servers.

In-memory caching and data structures

Strings, hashes, lists, sets, sorted sets, and streams — all stored in memory for sub-millisecond reads and writes.

Persistence to disk

Data is persisted to disk so your cache and data survive restarts. Daily backups included at no extra cost.

Logs and metrics

Monitor Redis performance, memory usage, and command patterns. Alerts and logs available directly in the Galaxy dashboard.

Version control

Access current Redis versions when you want them. No forced upgrades — you choose when to move to a new version.

Global regions

Deploy to US East (Virginia), US West (Oregon), EU West (Ireland), Asia Pacific (Singapore), or Asia Pacific (Sydney).

Network isolation and security

Your Redis instance runs on an isolated network accessible only to your applications. TLS encryption in transit, encryption at rest.

Common Redis use cases

Redis is the go-to for anything that needs to be fast.

Caching

Cache database queries, API responses, and computed results for instant reads.

Session storage

Store user sessions in Redis for fast access across application instances.

Rate limiting

Protect APIs and endpoints with Redis-backed counters and sliding windows.

Queues and background jobs

Use Redis lists and streams to manage job queues and async processing.

Pub/sub messaging

Broadcast messages between services or application instances in real time.

Real-time leaderboards

Sorted sets give you ranked leaderboards with O(log N) insertions and lookups.
